Norway’s King Harald V died at age 89 at 6:35 a.m. local time Friday at Oslo University Hospital Rikshospitalet, ending a 35-year reign. His son Crown Prince Haakon, 53, immediately became King Haakon VIII, and Haakon’s daughter Princess Ingrid Alexandra became heir to the throne.
