The reporting

A neutral summary of the key facts most sources agree on, drawn from reporting across the political spectrum.

U.S. forces struck two Iranian rocket launchers on Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz on Sunday after Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps units were observed preparing rockets carrying sea mines for the commercial shipping lane. The operation was the first U.S. military action against Iran in about a month, following a lull since late July. Iran retaliated by firing missiles at U.S. forces at two bases in Jordan. The missiles entering Jordan were intercepted, and no impacts or casualties were reported.
