Chris Wright Says Drive Less

U.S. gasoline prices reached about $4.15 a gallon ahead of Labor Day weekend, nearly $1 higher than a year earlier and the highest level for the holiday period on record. Diesel averaged $5.85-$5.88 a gallon after hitting a record, raising freight and delivery costs across goods. Energy Secretary Chris Wright said on Sunday he did not “want to have an opinion” on where gas prices are headed and said Americans could lower costs by driving less. Prices remain elevated as the U.S.-Iran war disrupts oil flows, with both countries trading strikes on oil tankers over the weekend.
