What happened

Angel Carrasco, 31, was arrested by police and U.S. Marshals after a manhunt over an alleged balcony attack. He is accused of pushing Nathaly Ramirez, 23, and their eight-month-old daughter from a 15th-floor Bronx balcony early Tuesday. Ramirez died, and the baby survived with critical injuries. Carrasco faces murder, attempted murder, manslaughter and attempted manslaughter charges. The couple had a reported history of domestic violence, with Carrasco arrested twice in incidents involving Ramirez earlier this year. Investigators and law-enforcement sources said he brought flowers to seek reconciliation, then attacked after she rejected him. Carrasco allegedly fled after the fall, leaving the bouquet behind. He faced Bronx arraignment while the baby remained critical.

How each side covered it

From the left

Left-leaning outlets we track didn't cover this story.

From the right

Right-leaning outlets made the accused father’s demeanor, rage and domestic-violence failures the center of the story. The New York Post cast him as a remorseless “monster,” framed the fall as a rage after rejection, and highlighted a survivor’s warning that abuse victims lack protection.
