What happened
A gunman killed eight people at a Perry Street home in Erie, Pennsylvania, before being found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities said he shot two women outside, returned inside and killed others before dying. Investigators said most victims were members of his family, and they are treating the killings as domestic violence. Erie Police Chief Rick Lorah described the scene as devastating and deeply disturbing, and officials said there was no ongoing public threat. The victims included two young children and a woman who was eight months pregnant. Investigators are still working to determine what led to the killings, and authorities had not released the victims’ identities.
