The reporting
Vice President JD Vance and HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. referred hospitals and gender clinics to the Justice Department and HHS inspector general for possible prosecution and investigation over alleged billing fraud in pediatric gender-related care. An HHS report cited nearly $50 million in potential fraudulent insurance claims, including Medicaid and private-insurance billing for puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and surgeries. The report alleged providers used nonspecific diagnoses such as “endocrine disorder, unspecified” to obtain payment, and Vance sent the referral to Attorney General Todd Blanche.
