No 10 Condemns Portsmouth Protests

Britain’s government on Monday condemned anti-migrant demonstrations after hundreds of protesters blocked roads at Portsmouth’s Eastney Marina on Sunday evening as migrants rescued after crossing the English Channel were brought ashore for transport and processing. Officers used batons and synthetic pepper spray before the crowd was cleared around 3am, and police said some officers were injured. The Portsmouth protest followed a similar disruption at Dover on Saturday, where masked demonstrators stopped traffic near the port.
