Chinese worker Lu Haitao was rescued on Saturday from a 740-foot tunnel at the Upper Trishuli-1 hydropower project in Rasuwa district, the third worker pulled alive from the site 10 days after Nepal’s Aug. 26 flash floods. In a separate operation, rescuers found a Nepali woman alive under mud and debris at her home in Nuwakot district. The disaster has killed more than 1,350 people and left more than 5,000 missing across the Himalayan region. U.S. authorities said about 70 to 75 Americans remain unaccounted for and warned against travel to the flood-hit area.
