Lindsay Clancy Juror Defends Vote

Holdout juror Michael P. Desronvil defended his vote after Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial ended in a mistrial because the jury could not unanimously decide criminal responsibility. Clancy admitted killing her children, Cora, Dawson and Callan, while her defense said postpartum psychosis made her not criminally responsible; prosecutors said the killings were deliberate and planned. Desronvil said he had no doubts and that other jurors cut him off during deliberations. Other jurors said the panel split 11-1 for an insanity verdict after nearly 40 hours over seven days. His lawyer said he was in a secure location after online threats. Prosecutors have not said whether they will retry Clancy; court resumes Sept. 29.
