Ohio State Highway Patrol arrested Patrick M. Havas, 38, after it said he charged toward Democratic Ohio gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton during a campaign stop at the Canfield Fair on Sunday. Havas was armed, stopped by troopers before reaching Acton, and booked into Mahoning County Jail on disorderly conduct and two assault counts. Acton’s campaign said he lunged at her and injured multiple people; law enforcement said several fairgoers were hurt in the confrontation. Acton resumed campaigning Monday at a Labor Day event in Cleveland.
