What happened

Israeli police arrested 10 suspects in a pre-dawn operation tied to weekend violence in the occupied West Bank. Police did not identify them or say which incidents each suspect was tied to. On Friday in Abu Falah, masked settlers attacked Palestinian olive harvesters and beat Washington Post photojournalist Heidi Levine, causing serious injuries. On Saturday, masked settlers attacked European diplomats and others visiting Taybeh, including representatives of Belgium, France and Poland. The attacks came during the annual Palestinian olive harvest, amid a surge in settler violence. The United States and European governments urged Israel to act, while police said the suspects were transferred for questioning.

How each side covered it

From the left

Left-leaning outlets framed the arrests inside a broader rise in settler violence against Palestinians, rather than as attacks centered on foreign visitors. The New York Times emphasized international pressure on Israel while questioning whether arrests would lead to punishment. Al Jazeera focused on accusations that Israeli authorities enabled or downplayed the violence.
